The University of Michigan Health System (UMHS) was recently named in the top 100 most integrated health systems in the nation by IMS Heath, a leading health care market analysis firm.
More than 570 non-specialty and regional health networks and systems are eligible for the IMS Health ranking. Eight factors were taken into consideration when determining the list, including integration, integrated technology, contractual capabilities, outpatient utilization, financial stability services and access, hospital utilization and physicians. UMHS is listed at 54th in the nation for its performance on the critical success indicators listed above.
The U-M Health System is comprised of three hospitals: University Hospital, C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, and Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital; more than 40 outpatient health centers and clinics and a comprehensive home-care program; the U-M Medical School with its Faculty Group Practice and extensive biomedical research and education programs; the clinical operations of the U-M School of Nursing; and the Michigan Health Corp.
Ann Arbor and the surrounding communities are very fortunate to have one of the best hospitals in the nation right here in Washtenaw County.
