In the closest race to date, Wolverine State Brewing Co. knocked out Arbor Brewing Company to win AnnArbor.com’s title of Best Brewery in Washtenaw County. The lead changed several times throughout the week, but in the end the newcomer, Wolverine State Brewing Co., was crowned the champion. Rounding out the top three was Jolly Pumpkin Café & Brewery.
The newest craft microbrewery in Washtenaw County, Wolverine State Brewing Co., has been contract brewing and selling their Wolverine Premium Lager for three years. Late last year they opened their ten-barrel commercial system with an attached Tap Room on West Stadium Boulevard in the old Big George’s warehouse. Like most traditional tap rooms, beer is the only thing on the menu. Guests are allowed to bring in their own food or order food to be delivered.
